Call for Entry: 2026 Fresh Paint
Fresh Paint will be our first live chapter exhibition of 2026! As the title suggests, the exhibit will feature artwork that has been created within the last 2 years.
The exhibit will take place at the Leslie Grove Gallery, 1158 Queen Street East, Toronto, with additional online representation on the Federation Gallery website.

Submission Start Date: April 1st on the FCA website
Submission Deadline: May 7
Notification of Results by the FCA: May 20
Exhibition Opening: Wednesday, June 24
Exhibition Closing: Sunday, July 5
Exhibition Hours: 12 to 5 pm.
Drop-Off Day for accepted artworks: Tuesday, June 23, 12 pm to 1:30 pm, Leslie Grove Gallery, 1158 Queen Street East, Toronto.
Artwork Pickup Day: July 5th, 5 pm to 6:30 pm.
Shipping: Unfortunately, the gallery cannot accept artwork shipped in advance of the show. We are recruiting local FCA Toronto members to accept shipped artwork from out-of-town artists. These volunteers will deliver the work to the gallery. More details will be offered once the jury has decided whose work will be admitted to the show.
Eligibility: This exhibition is open to Exhibiting, AFCA, and SFCA members of the Federation of Canadian Artists who are also members of FCA Toronto.
Maximum Number of Artworks an Artist May Submit: 4
Maximum Number of Artworks per Artist the Jury May Accept: 3
Cost: The price for entry is CAN $30.00, which includes your first artwork. Each additional artwork you wish to submit will cost CAN $10.00. If you wish to submit four images, for example, the total fee will be CAN $60.00.
Theme: All styles and subject matter are welcome for this exhibition.
Availability: The artworks you submit must be available for sale.
Size: The maximum size of artwork permitted is 80 combined inches in terms of height plus width. For example: 40″ x 40″ or 60″ x 20″.
Acceptable 2D Media: Oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, encaustic, pen and ink, pencil, graphite, and hand-pulled prints in print-runs of less than 200. Artists practicing mixed media are required to list all media used, inclusive of mediums and gels.
When applying, please indicate the support you used as well as the medium, e.g., acrylic on canvas, oil on aluminum panel.
Excluded Media: Sculpture, photography, digital photography, digital prints, digital art, AI-generated art, posters, pyrography, giclee, mechanical reproductions, and works that rely heavily on mechanical reproductions are not permitted.
Awards: We are offering the following prizes which will be awarded at our opening reception:
- 1st place — $300
- 2nd place — $200
- 3rd place — $100
- 3 honourable mentions
- All sold Artwork will be marked with a red dot on the label and shall remain in the Gallery for the duration of the Exhibition.
- The Artist shall be responsible for the packaging, delivery and shipment of all Artwork to the Purchaser within a timely manner. The Artist will certify that the Artwork has been delivered to the Purchaser in a timely manner prior to payment being released by the Gallery.
- Artists are responsible for insurance. The Artists’ Network and Leslie Grove Gallery are not liable for theft or damage of artwork during the exhibition, installation, takedown, and/or removal. We highly recommend that all professional artists carry liability insurance for all of their business activities.
- Framed and unframed artworks are permitted. Edges of artwork on cradled wood panels must be completely void of paint or completely covered in a complementary colour or continuation of the artwork. Edges of work on gallery-wrapped canvas can either be a continuation of the artwork or painted in a complementary colour.
- Gallery Hanging Requirements: Attach a completed Leslie Grove Gallery label to the back of piece. (Note: Label to follow.) All art exhibited at Leslie Grove Gallery must be properly installed. Pieces that do not meet our hanging requirements may be excluded from the exhibition. Each piece must be completely dry, set, cured, fixed, or protected. All substrates must be wired a third of the way down from the top with D-rings and plastic-coated picture hanging wire, regardless of size. *In addition, 2 D-rings must be secured 1 ½” to 2″ from the top edge of the work to the top of the D-ring.
The submission and jurying process for this exhibition is being managed by the Federation of Canadian Artists on the behalf of FCA Toronto.

Image Requirements for Submission:
- JPG format
- At least 1500 pixels on the longest side of your digital image
- Maximum file size of 24MB
