The Artist Directory will be updated regularly as the FCA Board becomes aware of changes to our membership. If you are an FCA Toronto artist and would like to update your profile, please contact us.
In the near future, we plan to offer different versions of the directory whereby artists are sorted by region and national FCA status.
The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) recognizes artist members by the level they have achieved through the FCA’s jurying process: exhibiting, associate (AFCA) and signature (SFCA) members. To find out more about FCA’s membership levels, click here.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Liane Bedard works with transparent watercolour layered in multiple glazes over detailed drawing to create clean and luminous works on paper. With a preference for the play of light and shadow, she is focused on the beauty of transient sunlight for strong compositions with dynamic light and dark pattern.
Dina Belaia, AFCA
Toronto, Ontario
Associate FCA Member. Toronto-based Dina Belaia uses dry media (graphite, pastel) for her analytical approach to her drawings. She follows the school of Analytical Art whereby one draws the essence of things rather than the surface, leading the viewer to reflect on matters of inner life and the human condition.
Virginia Bergmann, AFCA
Annapolis Royal, N.S.
Associate FCA Member. Inspired by the Barbizon School and Tonalism, Virginia aims to capture the poetry of a landscape with moody, idyllic dawn and twilight lighting, demonstrating, with oil on canvas, the atmospheric effects upon the landscape. Mostly a self-taught artist, her work is found in private collections, juried and solo exhibits across Canada and the US.
Harvie Brydon
Belleville, Ontario
Exhibiting FCA Member. Harvie has his studio in Belleville Ontario. His main art medium is acrylic paint, but he also sculpts in stone. His landscapes and portraits are of a realistic style, and yet he has also been working in a more modern, contemporary style for some of his pieces.

Associate FCA Member. Based out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Wendy is often influenced by the diverse cultures she experiences throughout her travels as a figurative/still life artist. She exhibits both at home and abroad, while consistently adhering to a high standard of artistic excellence.
Ian Carter
Vancouver, BC
Exhibiting FCA Member. In the tradition of the Impressionists, Vancouver-based Ian Carter mostly paints the landscape en plein air. His paintings focus on light and shadow, filtering through the trees in the landscape on the West Coast of British Columbia, and Vancouver Island. Ian works in watercolour and acrylics.
Rick Cullis, AFCA
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
Associate FCA Member. Rick is an oil painter who paints landscapes, marine topics, portraits and figures in a naturalistic or realistic style. He always explores textures, colour, depth, form, light and dark to represent a particular feeling or mood that occurred when he first glimpsed the subject.

Exhibiting FCA Member. "Making abstract art is how I make sense of the world and share it with others. I play with acrylic paint, markers, collage, and tools such as spatulas and squeegees, exploring relationships between shapes and lines, colours and textures. I paint intuitively to music and with movement."

Exhibiting FCA Member. "Muskoka has been my home for over 30 years and constantly inspires me with its beauty and ruggedness. The colour and texture of my surroundings spurs me on as I apply paint liberally to the canvas with my palette knife. I like to challenge myself with varied subjects, not becoming too comfortable with each, so that each painting is fresh."

I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for the Canadian Armed Forces and several Toronto advertising studios. My education includes Ontario College of Art, George Brown College, and the Three Schools of Art, also studying illustration with Will Davies and figure and portrait drawing with Michael John Angel Academy."

Exhibiting FCA Member. "My art is deeply influenced by symbolism and personal experiences of loss, emigration, and illness. Through the fluid spontaneity of watercolor, I explore emotion and impermanence, allowing the medium’s unpredictability to guide the narrative. My compositions are inspired by ikebana, conveying fragility and the beauty of what is broken and lost."

Exhibiting FCA Member. "Colour, shape and random mark making are some of my favourite elements in an art piece. I swing between abstract expressionism, still life and landscape. Originally from Winnipeg MB, I have also lived and worked in Calgary, Kelowna and spent many summers by the seaside in Newfoundland."

Exhibiting FCA Member. Painting Contemporary Realism, she has been Internationally applauded for her recent "Intoxicated" series. A juried member of the International Guild of Realism, the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists, her paintings are in private collections around North America.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Suzanne Hernandez has been creating art in watercolour and graphite since 2020 and has also recently experimented with pastel pencil and charcoal pencil. Her vibrant florals, landscapes, wildlifes, still lifes and portraits can be described as Abstract Realism and explore the organic randomness of nature’s colours, lines and shapes.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Poonam Khanna is an emerging Toronto-based artist working primarily in acrylic. She likes to paint scenes of everyday life, but from a new perspective. She's fascinated by the effect rain can have on a landscape, especially when seen through glass. The rain blurs the lines between objects, and many things start melting into one another.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Sharon, based in Glengarry County, Ontario, paints representational landscapes, primarily oil on canvas. Her landscape photography serves as inspiration for her paintings. Prior to becoming a professional artist, Sharon worked as a costumer in the Canadian film/tv industry for 26 years.

Exhibiting FCA Member. As a multidisciplinary artist Cindy works with colour and form, exploring perceptions, weaving the realms of abstraction and realism, often incorporating elements of the natural landscape and the landscape of the human figure, in a metaphorical way.

Exhibiting FCA Member. "My love for nature & wildlife, has inspired two main painting series. The first is "A Bird Migration Series" in acrylics; we so enjoy these incredible creatures passing through our area each spring and fall. The other is a larger wildlife painting series completed in oils of our adventures throughout Algonquin Park."

Associate FCA Member. Born, raised and living in Hamilton, Ontario, Lee paints primarily landscapes of his city and the province. He travels all over Ontario in all seasons painting small pieces on location and taking photographs, then bringing them home to his studio to turn them into larger paintings.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Nancy is a watercolour artist and teacher from Aurora, ON. Her work celebrates the connections between people and places, their history and nature. Transparent, glowing colours capture the play of light in her florals, still life paintings, and landscapes. Nancy shares her love of watercolour through workshops, classes and artist trips.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Janet Parker is a Master Pastelist and Signature member of PastelArtists.ca. She is a member of the Society of Canadain Artists, The Federation of Canadian Artists, The Woman's Art Association of Hamilton, Burlington Fine Arts Guild and Alumnist of Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA) . Her work hangs in homes and board rooms in several parts of the world and been published in Pastel Artist International Magazine and International Artist Magazine. She has taught workshops at DVSA and courses at Burlington Art Centre and other venues in her area.

Exhibiting FCA Member. Robert Pointer is an acrylic and oil painter in Grey Highlands creating work in abstract, post impressionist and realist traditions. Artist and educator, he has actively exhibited his artwork since the 1970's and taught art and music with the Peel School Board for twenty-five years.

Associate FCA Member. Alan is an academy-trained, traditional oil painter based in Toronto with a passion for portraiture, figurative art, and still life. He describes his style as "classical realism", a form of representational art that exhibits a preference for beauty, order, harmony, and completeness. It also promotes the representation of nature based on direct observation using traditional methods. Alan is the founder and past president of FCA Toronto.

My Nailed It Series is a series based on upclose images of rusted nails. To me, the nail in each painting embodies a personality shaped from the time it was hammered in place."

Exhibiting FCA Member. Arpad Toplak is a Canadian visual artist from Toronto. Ontario. His style is unique and one of a kind, full of mystery and intrigue. Ink and paper are his primary tools of the trade. The intertwined images in his drawings create somewhat of a mysterious surreal landscape with a hint of darkness. Imagination plays a key role in the fruition of his works. Each and every piece of work is tended to with a special care, some lay dormant for several years before they are finally completed.
