Call for Entry: 2026 Canvas Chronicles

Starting July 7 until August 15, FCA Toronto invites submissions from FCA Toronto chapter members for its next Canvas Chronicles exhibition.
Our host gallery for this live show will be the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, located at 399 The West Mall, Toronto, ON, M9C 2Y2.

We encourage artworks that tell a story, whether personal or universal.
Submission Start Date: July 7 on the FCA website
Submission Deadline: Monday August 17 midnight
Notification of Results by the FCA: August 31
Take-In Day: September 20, 9:30 to 10:30 am, Installation and Award Jurying: 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Exhibition Opening Date: Wednesday, September 23

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
Statutory holidays: Closed
Opening Reception: Sunday, September 27, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Exhibition Closing Date: October 21
Artwork Pickup Day: October 21, 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
Shipping: Unfortunately, the ECC Gallery cannot accept artwork shipped in advance of the show. FCA Toronto’s Executive Committee will recruit volunteers to receive and deliver artworks from out-of-town artists. More details will be available once the jury has decided whose work will be admitted to the show.
Eligibility: This exhibition is open to Exhibiting, AFCA, and SFCA members of the Federation of Canadian Artists who are also members of FCA Toronto.
Maximum Number of Artworks an Artist May Submit: 5
Maximum Number of Artworks per Artist the Jury May Accept: 3
Cost: The price for entry is CAN $30.00, which includes your first artwork. Each additional artwork you wish to submit will cost CAN $10.00. If you wish to submit four images, for example, the total fee will be CAN $60.00.
Theme: All styles and subject matter are welcome for this exhibition.
Availability: Unlike regular FCA Toronto exhibitions, chapter members may submit artworks that are “not for sale” as well as ones available for sale.
Size: There are no size restrictions for this Canvas Chronicles exhibition.
Acceptable 2D Media: Oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, encaustic, pen and ink, pencil, graphite, and hand-pulled prints in print-runs of less than 200. Artists practicing mixed media are required to list all media used, inclusive of mediums and gels.
When applying, please indicate the support you used as well as the medium, e.g., acrylic on canvas, oil on aluminum panel. If your artwork is framed, please specify the framed dimensions in your description.
Excluded Media: Sculpture, photography, digital photography, digital prints, digital art, AI-generated art, posters, pyrography, giclee, mechanical reproductions, and works that rely heavily on mechanical reproductions are not permitted.
Awards: We are offering the following prizes which will be awarded at our opening reception:
- 1st place — $300
- 2nd place — $200
- 3rd place — $100
- 3 honourable mentions — Gift certificates from Rustic Burl & Co.

Image Requirements for Submission:
- JPG format
- At least 1500 pixels on the longest side of your digital image
- Maximum file size of 24MB
